St. John the Divine Anglican Church is inviting the community to take part in a Spring Food Drive in support of its neighbourhood “Blessing Box,” a grassroots initiative that helps supplement food for those in need.
Donations of non-perishable food items are most welcomed and can be dropped off at the church office Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, at 579–5th Street, Courtenay.
The Blessing Box, located on 5th Street (in front of the church), is a community-driven effort that provides accessible food support to anyone who needs it. Contributions from the public help ensure the box remains stocked and available as a simple, dignified way of caring for neighbours.
“We’re grateful for the generosity of our community,” said Rev. Alastair Hunting. “Small acts of kindness, like donating a few food items can make a real difference in someone’s day.”

Attn Gardeners. It's that time of year again. The Garden Appreciation Club is looking for donations for the annual plant sale which will be held on Saturday May 9. Plants, shrubs, seedlings, vegi starts and any garden related items such as tools, birdhouses, books, etc., etc. would be greatly welcome. Start gathering now but donations can not be accepted until Friday May 8 or Saturday May 9.

The  Garden Appreciation Club meeting is moved for this month to Tuesday April 28 at 2pm in preparation for the May 9 Plant Sale.  They will be meeting at ANDERTON GARDENS. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The Garden Appreciation Club usually meets in the parish hall at 2pm on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. New members are always welcome. 

NEW GROUP MEETING:  Naughty Knots: meet on the 2nd & 4th & 5th Tuesday of each month at 1pm in the hall. Join us for crafts & fellowship. Bring your favorite project to work on. Contact Andrea Davis for more info.

Chair yoga every Tuesday & Wednesday at 11:30am - 12:15pm in the hall. $5 drop in fee.

We gratefully acknowledge the generous grant received from the

toward the renovation of our kitchen. Our new kitchen will enable us to resume our community lunches and fund-raising activities.

Pledge Cards fordonations to the kitchen renovation can be placed in the offering plate.

“Donations of gently used mens and ladies clothing are needed for our Blessings Boutique. Donations can be dropped off at St John the Divine between 9am and noon Monday through Friday.”

-LUNCHBOX ITEMS: DRINK BOXES, GRANOLA BARS, PUDDING, FRUIT CUPS
-PASTA, KRAFT DINNER, MR. NOODLES
-SNACK ITEMS: POPCORN COOKIES, CRACKERS, CHIPS
-FLOUR, CANNED MILK

PLEASE ONLY NON-PERISABLE FOOD ITEMS.

The church now has the ability to accept Interac e-transfers!  E-transfers can be sent to the email address:  givings@sjtdcourtenay.ca

For donations, please include your envelope number if you have one.  

If you do not have an envelope number, please include your name and full mailing address, if you would like to receive a receipt at the end of the year for your donation.

If your donation is to be designated, please include this information also.  If there is no designation, the donation will go into general income.
