Hello all,
Today, Friday May 8th, is the 75th anniversary of Victory in Europe.  Unfortunately civic and church celebrations of VE75 Day in the Comox Valley were cancelled due to the pandemic.
However, Tim Ray made sure a SJTD commemoration happened, by playing Battle's O'er, a traditional air performed on the bagpipes at the end of a battle, and VE Day 75, a tune specially composed for this day.
This symbolic celebration took place at St. Andrew's Church in Courtenay, ending at one of the many war graves in its cemetery.  "A Cry for Peace" is a poem written for the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War and VE Day.

We shall remember.
