Join us in the parish hall on Shrove Tuesday for a Pancake Supper. Admission is by donation. This event is put on by the Men's Guild of St. John the Divine. Doors open at 5pm and they will be serving pancakes and sausages until 6 pm.
Don't forget to join us the next morning at 10 am in the church for Ash Wednesday.
Shrove Tuesday is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday which is the first day of Lent. The tradition of eating pancakes on this day originated as a way to use up rich foods prior to the fasting season of Lent.
