The 2025 investiture service will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria. 

The purpose of the Order is to honour and give special recognition to members of the diocese (and in the case of honourary awards, those not part of the diocese) who have given outstanding service over a significant period of time in their baptismal ministry.

The Fall Diocesan Women's Retreat will now be a one day event, taking place on September 27, 9am-4pm, at Camp Pringle. Join Bishop Anna and Rev. Christine Conkin as they dive into the topic of Keeping the Faith in the Turbulent 2020s. The program will end at 4pm with Eucharist.

We Together 2025: Early bird rate

Early Bird Rate until September 14

Registration for We Together, our regular (once every other year) diocesan conference, is now open and an early bird rate of $70 is available until September 14. From September 15, the registration rate will be $86. 

This year's theme is God is not Elsewhere. The conference will begin on Friday evening, November 14 with an evening banquet at St. Paul's in Nanaimo followed by an opening address. On Saturday, November 15 we will gather at St. Paul's for a full day of workshops featuring our speakers John Thatamanil, Jonathan Thomas, Jenny Replogle, Brendon Neilson, Christine Conkin, Gordon Smith and Denise Doerksen.

As of September 1, 2025 Eric Partridge has retired from his role as Executive Archdeacon. Diocesan Council has appointed Canon Jenny Replogle as Interim Executive Archdeacon. Please be in touch with Jenny for most of the things (HR matters, contracts, canons) that you previously contacted Eric about.

Brendon Neilson, as Executive Director, will continue to be the person to contact for matters concerning property and leases. Brendon has been appointed by Diocesan Council as Interim Executive Officer. If you are unsure who to contact, please reach out to one of them and they will redirect your inquiry if needed.

As you develop your budget for 2026, if you are seeing projected shortfalls in operations, you are invited to apply to this grant. Please note, this grant is meant for shortfalls in operating budget only; submissions for capital projects or short-term ministry projects are not eligible.

The church now has the ability to accept Interac e-transfers!  E-transfers can be sent to the email address:  givings@sjtdcourtenay.ca

For donations, please include your envelope number if you have one.  

If you do not have an envelope number, please include your name and full mailing address, if you would like to receive a receipt at the end of the year for your donation.

If your donation is to be designated, please include this information also.  If there is no designation, the donation will go into general income.
