NOTE:  Pg #s refer to the BAS

The Father brought us forth by the word of truth that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.   (James 1:16)

Processional Hymn: # 10  We the Lords People

We the Lord’s people, heart and voice uniting,
praise him who called us out of sin and darkness
into his own light, that he might anoint us
a royal priesthood.

This is the Lord’s house, home of all his people,
school for the faithful, refuge for the sinner,
rest for the pilgrim, haven for the weary;
all find a welcome.

This is the Lord’s day, day of God’s own making,
day of creation, day of resurrection,
day of the Spirit, sign of heaven’s banquet,
day for rejoicing.

In the Lord’s service bread and wine are offered,
that Christ may take them, bless them,
break and give them
to all his people, his own life imparting,
food everlasting.

Collect: Almighty God, we are taught by your word
that all our doings without love are worth nothing.
Send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts
that most excellent gift of love,
the true bond of peace and of all virtue;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. Amen

The Proclamation of the Word   (Led by Joyce Bainbridge)
First Reading:    1 KINGS 8:(1, 6, 10-11) 22-30, 41-43
Psalm 84:    Refrain:  Happy are the people whose strength is in you!
Second Reading:    EPHESIANS 6:10-20

Gospel Hymn: # 498 How Lovely is thy Dwelling Place (vs. 1-2)

How lovely is your dwelling place,
O Lord of hosts, to me;
my thirsting soul desires and longs
within your courts to be;
my very heart and flesh cry out,
O living God, for thee.

Beside thine altars, gracious Lord,
the swallows find a nest;
how happy they who dwell with thee
and praise thee without rest,
and happy those whose hearts are set
upon the pilgrim quest.

The Gospel:    JOHN 6:56-69

Gospel Hymn: # 498 How Lovely is thy Dwelling Place (vs. 3-4)

They who go through the desert vale
will find it filled with springs,
and they shall climb from height to height
till Zion's temple rings
with praise to thee, in glory throned,
Lord God, great King of kings.

One day within thy courts excels
a thousand spent away;
how happy they who keep they laws
nor from thy precepts stray,
for thou shalt surely bless all those
who live the words they pray.

Offertory Hymn:  # 497 Eternal Ruler of the Ceaseless Round

Eternal Ruler of the ceaseless round
of circling planets singing on their way;
guide of the nations from the night profound
into the glory of the perfect day;
rule in our hearts, that we may ever be
guided and strengthened and upheld by thee.

We are of thee, the children of thy love,
the brothers of thy well-belovèd Son;
descend, O Holy Spirit, like a dove,
into our hearts, that we may be as one:
as one with thee, to whom we ever tend;
as one with him, our Brother and our Friend.

We would be one in hatred of all wrong,
one in our love of all things sweet and fair,
one with the joy that breaketh into song,
one with the grief that trembles into prayer,
one in the power that makes thy children free
to follow truth, and thus to follow thee.

O clothe us with thy heavenly armour, Lord,
thy trusty shield, thy sword of love divine;
our inspiration be thy constant word;
we ask no victories that are not thine:
give or withhold, let pain or pleasure be;
enough to know that we are serving thee.

Prayer over the Gifts: God of glory,
receive all we offer this day as a symbol of our love,
and increase in us that true and perfect gift.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen

The Communion (all are welcome to receive communion, or to come up to the altar for a blessing)

Communion Hymn:  # 435 Take My Life and Let it Be

Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to Thee
Take my moments and my days,
let them flow in ceaseless praise

Take my hands and let them move
 at the impulse of Thy love
Take my feet and let them be
swift and purposeful for Thee

Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from Thee
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose

Take my will and make it Thine,
it shall be no longer mine
Take my heart, it is Thine own,
it shall be Thy royal throne

Take my love, my Lord I pour
at Your feet, it's treasure store
Take myself and I will be
ever, only, all for Thee

Prayer after Communion:  Living God,
increase in us the healing power of your love.
Guide and direct us
that we may please you in all things,
for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.Amen

Doxology (Old 100th) Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Praise him all creatures here below! Praise him above ye heavenly hosts! Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost! Amen

The Blessing

Closing Hymn:  # 374 Alleluia! Sing to Jesus

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
His the scepter, his the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood.
Jesus, out of every nation,
Has redeemed us by his blood.

Alleluia! Not as orphans
Are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us;
Faith believes nor questions how.
Though the cloud from sight received him
When the forty days were o'er,
Shall our hearts forget his promise,
"I am with you evermore"?

Alleluia! Bread of Heaven,
thou on earth our food, our stay;
Alleluia! Here the sinful
flee to thee from day to day.
Intercessor, friend of sinners,
Earth's Redeemer, plead for me,
Where the songs of all the sinless
Sweep across the crystal sea.

Alleluia! King eternal,
thee the Lord of lords we own:
Alleluia! born of Mary,
Earth thy footstool, heaven thy throne:
Thou within the veil, have entered,
Robed in flesh, our great High Priest:
thou on earth both priest and victim
in the Eucharistic feast!

Alleluia! Sing to Jesus!
His the scepter, his the throne;
Alleluia! His the triumph,
His the victory alone.
Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion
Thunder like a mighty flood.
Jesus, out of every nation,
Has redeemed us by his blood.
